Pavelić
The family the Blaževići of Mrzli Dol kept marrying — twenty of the forty-three spouses recorded for Pavelić people are Blažević — with a branch that ended up at Hibbing, on the Minnesota iron range. None of them stands on the direct line; they are the in-laws, and this page says so.
Not ancestors — the people next door
No Pavelić appears among Hedviga's ancestors in this tree, and this page does not pretend otherwise. They are here because of whom they married, and because there are so many of them: 111 people, born 1815 to 1927, the great majority at Mrzli Dol. Of the forty-three spouses the tree records for them, twenty are Blažević (one written Blasevic), eight are Prpić, four are other Pavelići, three Kalanj, three Tomljanović, two Vukelić and one Krmpotić. At Mrzli Dol the two names were one community marrying itself.
Four houses
The house is the unit that matters in these registers, as it is for the Prpići at Krivi Put, and four numbers carry most of the family.
House 14. Marko Pavelić (1855–1932) married Ana Prpić, and the tree gives them children from 1878 to 1910 — Milan, Lucija, Marko, Krešimir, Zvonimir and a long run of children who died young (Kata, Mate twice, Franjo, Ruža, Josip, Danica, Matija, Anka). Zora, who went to Minnesota, is entered as the daughter of a Marko Pavelić and an Ana Prpić — very probably this couple.
House 30. Dujo Pavelić (1832–1908) married Antonia Tomljanović; Marija (1860), Mihovil or Mile (1862), Katarina, Ruža, Grga, Antonia, Ivan and Lucija are entered as their children, most of them at house 30, and Dujo died there.
Houses 23 and 68. Martinus Dujo Pavelić (1853–1914) married Antonia Blažević. The tree puts most of their children at 23 — Marija (1873), Marta (1875), Mile Mihovil (1880), Marko (1882), Slavka (1898) — but Anka (1888) and Jure (1885) at 68, Francisca (1877) at both at once, and Martinus Dujo himself at 68. That may be a household that split, or one register copied two ways; the tree cannot say.
House 6 or 7. Ivan Pavelić (1851–1915) married Maria Blažević; their daughter Ana (1886–1965) was born at house 6 and married a Marko Pavelić, son of Mihovil — a Pavelić marrying a Pavelić.
The marriages into the Blažević line, and a double
Four of the marriages show the pattern. Marija Pavelić (1824 – before 1892), who died at Krivi Put, married Nikola Blažević; Antonija Pavelić (1836–1913) married Mihovil Blažević; the Marija Pavelić born 24 January 1862 married Mile Blažević; and Mile Pavelić (1862–1939) of house 30 married Franjica Blažević. The tree carries that last man twice — as Mile, with a mother “Ante Tomljanović”, and as Mihovil, with a mother Antonia Tomljanović — and the same for his son Jure (1890–1964, died at Barcs in Hungary). They are almost certainly one person each. This archive has not opened the registers for these marriages; they are the tree's claim, not a finding.
The first Pavelić this archive found in the Senj marriage book
In the Senj marriage volume (FamilySearch waypoint 9RK1-W3P) the earliest Pavelić read here is Thomas Pavelić, entry 167, April 1793, marrying a Magdalena, with the cathedral canon Philippus de Vukasović celebrating. He is a reading, not a branch of the tree: nothing joins him to the Mrzli Dol Pavelići, and the name is common enough that a join would need a baptism. A marriage of 21 October 1849 is read Pavetić; whether that is Pavelić misread is not decided. The page images are kept.
The ones who left
Zora Pavelich (27 December 1900 – 17 August 1990) was born at Mrzli Dol and died at Hibbing, St. Louis County, Minnesota; her parents are entered as Marko Pavelić and Ana Prpić (probably house 14) and her husband Ivan ‘Ive’ John Pavelich, born Pavelić in 1893 and also dead at Hibbing. Their first child, Ann Sylvia, was born at Krivi Put in 1921; the next two, John (1923) and Mary Margaret (1925), at a place the tree calls Carson Lake (historical) in St. Louis County. So the move fell between 1921 and 1923 — an inference from three birthplaces, not a document.
Others went elsewhere. Michael Pavelich (1876–1961), son of Ivan and Maria Blažević of house 6/7, died at Los Angeles; Matt Pavelich (1896–1938), Martinus Dujo's son, at Gold Park, Ontario; Marko (1887–1968) at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; a Josip (1895) in the United States. At home the movement was to the city: Milan (1878–1938), Krešimir (1898–1960) and Slavka Sylvia (1898–1990) died at Zagreb. The other emigration is where the rest of this archive's emigrants are collected.
What is not known, and what would answer it
1. Where the Mrzli Dol Pavelići came from. The tree's earliest Pavelić is Josephus (born 1815, wife Anna Blažević), with no place; the earliest with a place is Marija, born 1824. The earliest with a register citation is Domnus, born 1847, son of Stephanus Pavelić and Ana Blasevic (Krivi Put births 1847–1884, image 6). The Krivi Put marriages before that, and the Senj baptisms, are the way back.
2. The Senj baptisms for the name. The index sweep began on 13 October 2026 and stopped when the FamilySearch sign-in expired; Pavelić is among the spellings only partly paged.
3. The doubles — Mile and Mihovil, the two Jures — are left as the tree has them, not merged; the duplicates page says how this archive treats a pair like that.

Everyone of the name
All 112 people this archive holds of the name, oldest first, in the shape the front page uses — the couple in two columns with a birthplace beside each name, the children beneath them, brothers and sisters under whichever of the two they belong to. Oldest first, which is the only order a family has, and everything is shut until you open it. The rows marked parish register are people read off a page that the family tree has never had; they are not less proved, they are just not typed in.

THOMAS PAVELIĆ [«PAVELICH»], A GROOM AT SENJ IN APRIL 1793, marrying a Magdalena [..] — the first Pavelić of the Senj marriage volume; a reading of the second pass over the Latin numbered entries, the celebrant a cathedral canon Philippus de Vukasović.
