Fifty-five people, every one of them joined to Hedviga without scaffolding — and the least-researched family on this site. Not one Boras occupation is recorded anywhere in this archive.
The family this archive has done least for
Two families here reach Hedviga entirely without scaffolding. Strip every sorting label out of the tree and all 55 Boras remain connected to her by ordinary parent, child and marriage links. Only Kalanj can say the same. Set that against Žubrinić at 5% and Prpić at 6%.
Where they are, and how they arrive
Seventeen of the thirty placed Boras records are at Senj, and the family runs from 1820 to 1946. The connection is by marriage, twice: Franjo Boras (1888–1943) married Božica «Tonka» Papić, and a second Franjo Boras (1914–1940) married Ruža Prpić.
This page used to say they married into the Senj Blaževići. They did not.
And a third marriage, which this archive only understood this week
Angelika Boras married Martin Kosina — and until 27 September 2026 that was a line in a household list and nothing more. It is the join to the Carniolan Kosina: Martin was born unehelich at Oberfeichting no. 9, near Kranj in Slovenia, on 16 November 1841, and the four generations above him were read out of the Kranj–Šmartin registers this month.
So a Boras of Senj married into a Carniolan cottager's household that this archive can now follow back to a man born about 1775. And the marriage cost them two children in one year. The Senj death index carries Marija Kosina and Josip Kosina, both born and both buried in 1896, both entered «Martin Kosina × Angjelina Kosina» — two infant deaths the family tree does not have, and probably twins, which the register would say and the index does not.
What is not known, and what would answer it
1. The Senj registers, for Boras. Baptisms, marriages and deaths, already in hand and already walked for other surnames. They would place thirty people, give the first occupation, and settle whether the two Franjos are kin.
2. Angelika Boras's own marriage entry. It would name her parents and Martin Kosina's, and it is the one document that would tie the Senj Boras to the Kranj household by evidence rather than by a tree line.
3. Whether Marija and Josip of 1896 were twins. The index gives a year; the register gives a day.
