Vukelić
The smallest family on this site — fifteen people — and the one that answers a question the archive asked for months: who Milka Papić married before Ljubomir Blažević.
Milka's first husband
Zvonimir Matej Vukelić, born 13 January 1883, died 1915 — married to Milka Lucia Papić, who is Hedviga's mother.
He is the reason Milka was a widow at twenty-eight, with a daughter of eight and a son of two, five years before she married Ljubomir Blažević. Fifteen people are on this page and that one fact is why they are here at all.
Not “of Lika”
This page described them that way for the life of the site, and it was wrong. The published Vukelići are at Senj — ten of the twelve placed records — with single entries at Alan (house 8, 1823) and Mrzli Dol (house 25, 1900).
Mrzli Dol is the Blažević village, which is not a coincidence worth ignoring — a Vukelić is at a Blažević house number fifteen years before a Vukelić widow married a Blažević.
Three marriages, three families
For fifteen people they are unusually well connected. Michael Vukelić married Stanislava Blažević; Marija Vukelić married Josip Žubrinić; and Zvonimir married Milka Papić.
Three of the other eight families of this archive, out of a family of fifteen. A family this small touching that many is not a family on the edge of the story. It is a Senj household the tree has barely entered.
What is not known, and what would answer it
1. Zvonimir's death, 1915. Day, place and cause all missing. The Senj death register for 1915, or the letter that is drafted and unsent.
2. Whether the Senj stone is theirs. The Blažević grave at Senj stands among neighbours reading VUKELIĆ, TOMLJANOVIĆ, BEZJAK and ROGIĆ. Nobody has checked whether that plot is this family, and one photograph of the inscription would settle it. What to photograph →
3. Alan 8 in 1823 and Mrzli Dol 25 in 1900. Two houses, two records, seventy-seven years apart, and nothing joining either to the Senj ten.

Everyone of the name
All 15 people this archive holds of the name, oldest first, in the shape the front page uses — the couple in two columns with a birthplace beside each name, the children beneath them, brothers and sisters under whichever of the two they belong to. Oldest first, which is the only order a family has, and everything is shut until you open it. The rows marked parish register are people read off a page that the family tree has never had; they are not less proved, they are just not typed in.
