The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it. Krstni index Kranj-Šmartin 1603-1779, the K section, read 27 September 2026 - TWO ENTRIES: "KOSINA GERTRUD (Lukas) 2.3." under 1773, and "KOSINA HELENA (Lukas) 26.4." under 1779. The index gives the FATHER in brackets and a date, and no page, so these are two daughters of a LUKAS KOSINA baptised six years apart. HE CANNOT BE THE LUKAS THIS ARCHIVE ALREADY HAS. That Lukas married in 1799 aged 29, so he was born about 1770 and was three years old when Gertrud was baptised. THIS IS AN OLDER MAN OF THE SAME NAME, fathering children at Kranj-Šmartin from 1773. AND THAT IS EXACTLY THE GENERATION THIS ARCHIVE HAS BEEN SHORT OF. Its three earliest Kosina men are MATTHAEUS born about 1774, FRANZ born 1775-76 and LUKAS born about 1770 - three men born inside six years, whom the archive has only ever been able to call brothers on the arithmetic of their ages. A Lukas Kosina fathering children in 1773 and 1779 is a candidate for their father, and the 1773 and 1779 girls would be their sisters. NOTHING PROVES IT. No entry yet read names Lukas the elder’s wife, his house or his village, and the two baptisms have NOT been opened - the index carries no page number and the register (sig. 00883) has not been walked to find them. THE TEST IS THE HOUSE: if either girl is baptised at Oberfeichting 9, the house Franz held and died in, the case is made; if neither is, it is not. THE REST OF THE K SECTION, 1747 to 1772, HAS NOT BEEN READ, so there may be more of them. Matricula, NSAL sig. 00872 images 71 and 72 READ FROM THE IMAGE 9 October 2026 (Helena's baptism): Matricula Kranj-Smartin baptisms sig. 00883, book page 358 right-hand page, entry 26 of April 1779 — «Helena … Lucas Kosina et Helena Pernerza [Perner], Rustici», godparents Michael … and Nescha Zhekirnza, baptised by the parish priest of St Martin; the LOCUS COLUMN READS «Sti Thomae» WITH A HOUSE NUMBER (read 17). CORRECTION THE SAME DAY: «Sti Thomae» IS NOT A DIFFERENT PLACE FROM OBERFEICHTING. Matricula's own parish page lists «Sv. Tomaž, Zgornje Bitnje» as the parish's filial church at Zgornje Bitnje, and the 1773 pages write entries from the same village «Ex superiori Feichting» and «ex vicinitate S. Thomae». So this Lukas Kosina lives in the neighbourhood of St Thomas, which is the Zgornje Bitnje area, and the house number read as 17 against Franz Kosinar's later No. 9 is NOT evidence either way, because house numbers of 1779 and of 1800 are not known to be the same series. THE HOUSE TEST IS INCONCLUSIVE. It fits Lukas the elder being a Zgornje Bitnje man; it does not show he was Franz's father. The 1773 Gertrud entry was looked for on pages 306-309 and not found. UPDATE 11 OCTOBER 2026 - A THIRD CHILD, AND THE ONE THAT MATTERS: «Koskina Franciscus Xaverius», son of «Lucas et Helena Kosina», baptised 3 December 1775, locus «S. Thomae», house 10 (Matricula sig. 00883, page 330 right-hand page; see his own row). HE IS THE CANDIDATE FRANZ KOSINAR. The house test said inconclusive on 9 October because Helena's 1779 entry reads as 17; Franz's baptism reads 10, and Franz Kosinar's marriage (1800) and death (1849) both give «Feichting bei St. Johann 10». The 1779 number should be re-read: it may be 10.
